‘The Spider’ is primarily known for his Muay Thai skills but is a black belt in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. He began doing martial arts at 14 and earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do at 18. He also has a black belt in Judo.
Silva has been the UFC Middleweight Champion since 2006 and is also the last Cage Rage Middleweight Champ and former Shooto Middleweight Champ. He holds the record for the most consecutive wins in the UFC including his 9th win as he defeated Thales Leites in a unanimous decision after a full five round fight. Silva has also fought for other MMA promotions including Pride Fighting Championships, and Rumble on the Rock.
